We know many of you will be waiting for news from us, following the announcement from the Prime Minister on Sunday as the Government signals a cautious move to ease the lockdown measures.
From the beginning of June, we are planning to be able to see patients for face-to-face consultations, but ONLY in the case of an urgent clinical need, following recent advice from the professional associations.
The health and safety of everyone who comes into the clinic is paramount, and it is crucial that there are measures in place to absolutely minimise the risk of transmission of COVID-19 wherever possible.
We have been preparing the clinic for a gradual controlled reopening with risk assessments, planning and sourcing appropriate PPE. More information regarding the changes and modifications can be found in the lower section of this post.
Whilst we cannot fully open the doors to all our lovely patients, it is important that we continue to follow the advice and guidance given.
We understand how difficult this is.
Please rest assured we continue to work hard behind the scenes to determine the best way forward for us all.
Thank you again for your understanding and bearing with us at this time.
If you are a patient in need of advice, don’t forget our Chiropractors are available if you wish to speak to them.
We will continue to update you on our website and on our Facebook page.
Hopefully, it will not be long before we are open fully again.
We hope you and all your loved ones and those around you stay safe and healthy.
Due to the requirement to triage by phone in the first instance, the first step to making an appointment for face to face treatment will be to ring us on 0118 9787466.
Information for patients
We can schedule an appointment for you over the phone or you can book and pay for an appointment via our online booking system (blue button on the website).
Payments made in the clinic can now be contactless when possible. There will be spacing between appointments which allows our chiropractors to disinfect surfaces between patients.Your chiropractor will be wearing appropriate PPE as recommended by the professional associations.
If you have a face mask or face covering, we request that you wear this for the treatment. We will also have masks available to purchase at reception.
Patients are encouraged to arrive at the exact time of their appointment, not early or late to avoid overcrowding.
Due to the limited appointments available we reserve the right to charge a fee for those patients who arrive too late to fit in with the strict schedule.
Any patient who feels they may have had a recent interaction with a confirmed case can cancel at short notice without a charge being made.
Upon arrival at the clinic, patients will be asked to wait in their car or in the car park if early.
Patients should only be accompanied if minors, or require assistance. Other family members or friends are requested to stay in the car.
Patients are asked to leave accessory items such as watches & jewellery at home.
All patients will have their temperature taken upon arrival at the clinic and this will be noted on their clinical records.
Hand sanitiser will be available & all patients will be requested to sanitise their hands when entering & exiting the clinic.
Patients are asked to wear appropriate loose clothing, we will not be providing gowns/shorts at the practice unless we decide it is necessary.
Patients are encouraged not to remain in the clinic after their appointment for longer than is absolutely necessary.
Watch for COVID-19 symptoms & please reschedule your appointment if:
You are experiencing any signs & symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, sore throat, tiredness, fever, loss of sense of smell/taste)
Exposure to anyone with suspected or diagnosed COVID-19 in the last 14-21 days.
If you are in the ‘high risk group’, you are strongly advised NOT to receive care at this time. Please contact your chiropractor to discuss.
Ultimately, we are doing all that we reasonably can, to minimise risk whilst remaining open.
However, we cannot eliminate risk, especially as COVID-19 can be spread by those showing no symptoms.
We have included the consent form that we will be asking every patient to sign when receiving treatment.
Consent Form.
Wokingham Chiropractic Centre operates with very strict hygiene and sanitation protocols in place to protect ourselves and our patients.
Despite these precautions, there is an inherent risk of human to human transmission of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Symptomatic people should not visit the practice.
Whilst we are taking every precaution to limit your risk of exposure, we cannot guarantee that there is no risk to you as a result of attending the clinic and / or receiving care.
How does Coronavirus spread?
This virus appears to spread easily and it is thought it is mainly from person to person, through an aerosol of small droplets that form when a person talks, coughs or sneezes.
The virus can also be contracted from surface contact.
It is most likely that people contract the virus and spread this easily for some time before they show symptoms.
In addition some infected individuals may not show symptoms.
